BATA is the first high school in Massachusetts to fully embed a Community Health Worker (CHW) certification program and career pathway in its curriculum geared toward (a) non-incumbent workers, (b) young people, and (c) newcomers to the United States.
Our pathway's mission is to empower our students to become Community Health Workers (CHWs) by leveraging their unique cultural insights to serve their communities. As CHWs, they will bridge gaps between individuals, communities, and health services, assist in accessing necessary services, and advocate for community needs. They are integral to improving the health of the populations they serve and reducing health disparities, ultimately enhancing the quality of life for our entire community.
