Horace Mann School provides a Parent Infant Program (PIP) for families of deaf and hard of hearing children from birth to 3 years of age that is approved by the Department of Public Health.
PIP provides children with the early language foundation they need to thrive before entering school, and families with the opportunity to participate in home visits and to join playgroups. Home visits support the active involvement of family members as they learn how to provide their child with early access to language. Playgroups allow children and families to engage with one another, share resources and developmental milestones, and participate in parent discussion groups.

The first three years of a child's life is a critical and optimal time to learn and acquire language.
We are dedicated to providing support for parents in giving their children access to the full range of language opportunities they need to thrive. We also equip families with effective communication strategies in order to meet the developmental needs of their children.
Children build foundational language through play-based activities and daily routines in a natural learning environment.
