Mrs. Angela Lafontant
As
the Dean of Academics at WRA, Mrs. Lafontant also heads up our international
travel programs for students and staff. Most recently, Mrs. Lafontant took a
group of students and teachers on a 9-day tour of China.
Since
2008, the students at West Roxbury Educational Complex have had the opportunity
to travel to international locations to learn more about foreign lands, their
rich cultures and people. These include Spain, Morocco and China. This
spring, WRA is preparing to take students to Italy. We at West Roxbury Academy believe in the
power of travel and the positive impact it has on our students.
The learning that takes place while on these trips goes beyond what students are able to learn in the classroom and brings to life experiences that can only be had in the realms of these new environments. The students not only become more globally aware but also learn to compare and contrast our way of life to that of the countries visited and most times learn to appreciate the opportunities available to them in terms of education, freedoms or that which they wish they could have more access to.
