The WRA TV Production program is part of the city wide Career
and Technical Education (CTE) program that provides hands-on applied learning
experiences that build academic knowledge, problem solving skills, general
employment skills and specific career skills that lead to applicable industry
credentialing by providing career pathways within a traditional Boston,
district run, comprehensive high school. Upon graduation, Career and Technical Education students may enter employment, apprenticeship programs, and, two and
four year colleges. As part of the program’s hands-on applied learning, students
participate in national and international programs such as Adobe Youth Voices
and Panasonic’s Kid Witness News, in addition to filming school and community
events, preparing Public Service announcements for local and state agencies,
and attending local digital media conferences.
